Surprising news regarding Red Wings arena
Windsor arena was the first home of the Red Wings during the 1926-27 season when the team went by the Cougars.
The arena, one of the oldest in North America, will soon be celebrating its 100th year and is still fully standing at the corner of McDougall and Wyandotte.
While the Wings have played in two other arenas since thenJoe Louis and Olympia, both of which have been demolishedWindsor Arena still stands. However, there hasn't been a game held there since 20113.
A local group is planning to invest $10 million in renovating the arena so it can be used once again.
