Who are the NHL-Ready Red Wings prospects?
In the latest episode of The Silky Mitten State, hosts Connor Earegood and his co-host delved into the forward lineup, focusing on the opening night. They explored the potential for Nate Danielson, Carter Mazur, Marco Kasper, and Jonatan Berggren to appear in Detroit's first game of the new season.
Last fall at the Traverse City training camp, the Red Wings' roster was tightly packed, leaving minimal space for new talent. A heavy, though temporary, investment in ready-to-play free agents over the summer meant few opportunities for Detroit's rising stars to secure NHL roles. However, as we approach this summer's free agency, the situation looks set to shift for the 2024-25 season.
On the podcast, both hosts agreed that Mazur and Kasper are likely to secure spots on the team, whereas Danielson might spend more time in the AHL. They also discussed the possibility of Berggren being traded.
