Ex-NHL forward Paul Bissonnette vows harsh retribution against the group of men who assaulted him
Former NHL forward Paul Bissonnette was assaulted by a group of six men at a Scottsdale, Arizona restaurant while attempting to play peacemaker - and now he's breaking his silence.
A startling story out of the world of hockey went viral yesterday, as former NHL forward and current analyst/podcaster Paul Bissonnette was assaulted at Houston's restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, a location that he routinely frequents.
According to reports, Bissonnette was attempting to diffuse a situation in which six allegedly inebriated men were confronting restaurant staff, and the incident became physical.
He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later released, while the perpetrators were soon in police custody and charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
During the latest episode of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, Bissonnette vowed the perpetrators would face retribution.
Thankfully the cops were called right away while the thing was going on in Houston's.
And by the time the altercation was done, [police] were able to book five [or six] of these guys whether it was in the county jail or the local jail - and I'll get their names boys, and this is gonna be a thing.
I'll go after every single one of those f-ks for not only going after this unbelievable staff.
Maybe I bit off more than I could chew, but I wouldn't change one thing about what I ended up doing. I know I ate a few and I know that I am in rough shape.
I had to go to the hospital after. I think the whole ordeal probably lasted about three to three and a half minutes, I was pretty gassed.
Bissonnette continued by explaining he stepped in when the perpetrators became physical against the restaurant staff.
It was a bunch of drunk golfers, things obviously continued to escalate. They asked one guy to leave. And then one guy kept getting in the manager's face and put his hands on him.
I went over I just grabbed the guy's arm that was on him and I said, 'Sir if you continue to harass and assault this staff, we're going to have problems,' and then they just started chucking.
