It's now official, Patrik Laine has been traded
The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded Patrik Laine to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Jordan Harris and a 2026 second-round pick.
Blue Jackets GM Don Waddell stated that Laine wanted a change of scenery, leading to the deal.
Patrik Laine, who faced challenges last season, could succeed under Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis, especially if placed in a top-six role with Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Juraj Slafkovsky. His biggest challenge will be adapting to Montreal's intense hockey market, but if he does, he could become a fan favourite and exceed his past performance.
Do you think the Detroit Red Wings should have paid the price for Patrik Laine?
