Brett Hull, the former Detroit Red Wings star and NHL legend, recently appeared in the hockey movie Minor Leaguer.

Despite his illustrious playing career, including winning the Hart Trophy and multiple Stanley Cups, Hull's venture into acting hasn't been met with the same acclaim.
The film, which also features IIHF Hall of Famer Teemu Selanne, is centred around a rivalry between two minor-league hockey teams. Selanne's character purchases one team and takes on the role of coach-GM, while Hull's character buys a rival team, seemingly to antagonize Selanne. The storyline revolves around their feud, which Hull humorously attributes to a prank involving Jeremy Roenick in the 1993 NHL All-Star Game.

Despite the star power of Hull and Selanne, Minor Leaguer has been panned by critics. Finnish film critic Elias Juuti called the movie "embarrassing to watch," criticizing its reliance on bad jokes and lack of class. He also noted that the film's repeated cursing seems to be aimed at capturing a stereotypical hockey culture, but the overall result falls flat.
Minor Leaguer is available on Prime Video and Apple TV if you're curious to check out the film. However, don't expect a cinematic masterpiece-Hull's acting debut might not lead to a Hollywood career anytime soon.
