Jake DeBrusk, after signing a seven-year, $38.5 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks, expressed his enthusiasm about joining a winning team.

DeBrusk stated,
"I wanted to go to a team that could win, and I'm very lucky they wanted me."

In Vancouver, he will be part of a strong top-six forward group with Elias Pettersson, J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser, Nils Hoglander, and Danton Heinen for the 2024-25 season.
DeBrusk succeeded in Boston, including a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2019. The Bruins struggled with forward depth after the retirements of key players Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci in 2023. DeBrusk, who set career highs in goals (27) and points (50) in the 2022-23 season, is expected to excel in Vancouver, potentially surpassing those marks. His versatility will be valuable to Rick Tocchet's lineup, as he can play various roles and contribute to both the powerplay and penalty kill.
