The Maple Leafs had high hopes when former Red Wings winger Tyler Bertuzzi signed with the Blue and White last summer. Bertuzzi has felt that resigning with the Maple Leafs is certainly on the table as he feels good about the team and his family has enjoyed their time in the city. During the summer he signed a one year 5.5-million-dollar deal. Evolve Hockey stated that he could command a cap hit of 6.5 million AAV over an 8-year extension.
It's also possible that Bertuzzi could find several suitors to offer him big money including the Red Wings as he was drafted in 2013 by the Wings and spent his first 7 seasons of his career in Detroit.
His type of player would be what the Red Wings need as the Wings are approaching to be Stanley Cup playoff contenders in the next few seasons.
He played 80 games for the Maple Leafs this season and he scored 21 goals with 22 assists for 43 points. The fans will wait and see if Steve Yzerman may be interested in a reunion with Bert.
