The Red Wings have a busy off-season ahead with a lot of cap space and potential to make some big moves.

While they have a lot of potential they also need to move some players that are currently dead weight.

One of those players is Jeff Petry who still has 1 year left on his contract but has been on a steady decrease in production with 24 points in 73 games.

Another player that should not be brought is forward Daniel Sprogn who although had a strong season with 43 points this year on the fourth line, he has proven to be a liability on defense. If they are able to re-sign him and a low cost it might be worth the risk but that is very unlikely.

Finally the last player the Wings should move on from is Justin Holl who is still under contract but has clearly been a waste of money as he spent the majority of last season watching from the press box.

Yzerman will have some a lot of decisions to make in the off-season if he plans on putting together a better team for next season.
