Buium's transition from NCAA champion to pro Hockey with Grand Rapids Griffin
After an exceptional college career at the University of Denver, where he won two NCAA Championships in three seasons, Shai Buium is ready to take on a new challenge.
The Detroit Red Wings, who drafted Buium, believe he's prepared for the next level of competition. This upcoming season, Buium will make his professional debut with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Red Wings' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.
Playing in the AHL will provide Buium with valuable experience against seasoned professionals, allowing him to further develop his skills as he works toward his ultimate goal of making it to the NHL.
