The Detroit Red Wings can count themselves as fortunate to have some considerable depth at the goaltending position, considering that they've been missing two starters for different portions of the year.
Both Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon have missed considerable time with their respective injuries, while Ville Husso has been re-thrust into action after being called up from the AHL.
Coach Derek Lalonde has provided the latest update on the health of both Talbot and Lyon, and the news is positive.
Lalonde indicated that Lyon will be available for tomorrow's game, but that he hasn't officially decided whether it will be Lyon or Husso between the pipes against the Flyers (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
Additionally, Talbot won't be available tomorrow but could be by the weekend.
Per Detroit Free Press beat writer Helen St. James:
Tomorrow, the Red Wings will take on the Flyers for the 2nd time, and they hope for a better result than last week's 4-1 loss.
The Red Wings honored 1st-year goaltender Cam Talbot before Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs, as he recently reached the 500-game threshold in his career.
Talbot's best years came as the starter for the Edmonton Oilers, helping them advance to Game 7 of the 2nd round in 2017, the franchise's 1st postseason appearance since 2006.
Talbot has also played for the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild and Los Angeles Kings before joining the Red Wings this past summer.
