The Red Wings were short several players from this morning's practice, and Todd McLellan has confirmed that they'll be shorthanded in tonight's game.

The Detroit Red Wings conclude their 3-game home stand tonight against the Los Angeles Kings at Little Caesars Arena (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).
But unfortunately, they're going to continue shorthanded, and even more so than they have been.
Patrick Kane remains unavailable due to the upper body injury that he suffered in last week's loss to the Dallas Stars, while coach Todd McLellan has confirmed that J.T. Compher will be unable to play thanks to the hit he took from Tampa's Emil Lilleberg at the blue line in the 2nd period of Saturday's 2-0 win.
Additionally, Vladimir Tarasenko is feeling ill and is considered questionable for tonight's game.
But the good news is that Tyler Motte, who has been absent since early January after slamming face-first into the boards against the San Jose Sharks, has been cleared to play and is expected to be in the lineup.
Additionally, Michael Rasmussen is expected to be able to play after he was injured at the end of Saturday's win; he was tripped blatantly by Tampa's Nikita Kucherov as he was about to score into the open net.
Per Coach McLellan, Vladimir Tarasenko is questionable for tonight & J.T Compher (day-to-day) is out.

Tyler Motte is good to go.
Patrick Kane is still day-to-day.
The The Red Wings have also signed minor-league forward Dominik Shine to a 2-year contract; he'll report to Detroit immediately.
