The Stadium Series was a spirited battle between the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets, and Patrick Kane has the bruises to prove it.

Patrick Kane is a three-time Stanley Cup champion and knows what it takes to win the best prize in all of sports.
He's been a fixture in Detroit, now in his second season wearing the iconic winged wheel.
After scoring 47 points in 51 games for the Wings last season, he'd follow up this season by playing in the iconic outdoor game, the 2025 Stadium Series.
In Ohio Stadium, the OSU-Michigan battle transcends sports, and time and this was another embodiment of the rivalry.
Except, it's union blue, and red and white.
Kane was one of the fiercest opponents of the Blue Jackets that night, as he'd sacrifice his body to protect his goalie Cam Talbot.
He'd hear about it from Head Coach Todd McLellan, with a chirp on how surprised he was that Kane put himself in front of a shot to block it.
"You gotta a sharpie in your pocket?!" He was in disbelief that Showtime would go that far to help the team!
McLellan's light hearted banter was a good contrast to the cannon being fired five times that night.
Kane would put up an elite three-points that night with 1 goal, and 2 assists against the underdog Blue Jackets.
And he has the bruises to prove his worth in battle, but will his lack of defensive effort push him out of Detroit?
The Union Blue may have won the battle, but it's not over by a longshot.
