Local Michigan product J.T. Miller, who played in Ann Arbor and for the OHL's Plymouth Whalers, was traded to the Rangers from the Canucks - and now more details have been released.

The J.T. Miller saga with the Vancouver Canucks was brought to an end last week when he was traded to the New York Rangers as part of a package to acquire Filip Chytil.

The trade took place not long after Canucks president Jim Rutherford confirmed that there was an ongoing squabble between Miller and fellow teammate Elias Pettersson.

Miller, who played for the United States National Development Program in the Detroit suburb of Ann Arbor as well as the now defunct Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League, took an extended leave of absence from the Canucks earlier in the year.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman is revealing that something took place to kickstart the rift between Miller and Pettersson on November 17 after a loss against the Nashville Predators.

They had the Nashville game and whatever happened after that game, and I've heard a couple different versions, and nobody will confirm it so I'm not gonna say it. But whatever the case was J.T. Miller went on his leave.

When Miller came back from his leave things just didn't get better in terms of the relationship and the stress and things like that. I think everybody hoped he would come back and things would change and they didn't. I think that was when the decision was made... that they were gonna move on.

Miller is now back with the Rangers, who selected him in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft with the 11th overall pick.

Aren't you glad that the Red Wings haven't had any reports of internal conflict in their dressing room over the years?
