The Detroit Red Wings gathered for practice today at Little Caesars Arena in preparations to return on the road and face the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow night.
However, one notable member of the Red Wings didn't practice with the rest of his teammates, resulting in speculations that the decision regarding his status for tomorrow's game may already be made.
Goaltender Sebastian Cossa, who picked up his 1st career NHL win against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night, was at the venue earlier in the day but did not partake in the morning skate with the rest of his teammates.
Meanwhile, both Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon, who have missed time with injuries, were back on the ice per Ansar Khan.
Cossa had been called up to the Red Wings from Grand Rapids following the injury earlier in the month to Talbot.
Ville Husso had been called up himself from the AHL in the wake of the injury to Alex Lyon during practice last month; Husso started Monday's game but was pulled after allowing three goals on just seven shots.
After relieving Husso, Cossa did surrender a pair of quick goals but settled down to finish with 12 saves on 14 shots.
He also stopped a pair of Sabres players in the overtime shootout and helped his team pick up a huge two points in the standings.
Cossa entered the NHL history books as the only goalie ever to pick up his 1st NHL win via the shootout after having entered the game in relief of the original starter.
