Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, the Detroit Red Wings' top draft pick in 2024, continues to impress on the international stage.

He scored twice in Norway's 4-2 victory over Japan during the IIHF pre-Olympic qualifying tournament. Michael Brandsegg-Nygard's goals, including a game-winning power-play tally and an even-strength insurance marker, showcased his scoring prowess.
This performance follows a strong start to the SHL preseason with Skellefteċ, where the 6-foot-1, 198-pound right-winger scored in the club's first two games. Norway's Group F also includes Great Britain and Denmark, with their next matchup against Great Britain on Friday.
Meanwhile, former Detroit Red Wings forward Teemu Pulkkinen is moving to Germany's DEL, joining the Schwenninger Wild Wings after spending six seasons in the KHL. Teemu Pulkkinen, 32, previously played 70 games for the Detroit Red Wings from 2013-16 and enjoyed success with the Grand Rapids Griffins, including two 30-plus-goal seasons and a Calder Cup title.
