Detroit Red Wings roster update: the first cuts of the training camp have been made
The Detroit Red Wings have narrowed their training camp roster down to 57 players ahead of their first preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks on September 25, 2024.
Goaltender Landon Miller has been returned to his OHL team, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and several players have been released from their amateur tryouts, including forwards Brayden Edwards, Chase Lefebvre, Charlie Paquette, and Borya Valis, along with defensemen Bauer Dumanski, Marcus Kearsey, Zackary Sandhu, Blake Smith, Josh Van Mulligen, and Matthew Virgilio.
The current roster includes 33 forwards, 16 defensemen, and 8 goaltenders. The team will continue practicing on September 24 before kicking off their eight-game preseason schedule.
