Former Red Wings goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic was not happy when he was yanked after surrendering three goals against the divisional foe Philadelphia Flyers on home ice in Pittsburgh.

Normally mild mannered, former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic was anything but on Thursday night after he was pulled from the net by coach Mike Sullivan.
Nedeljkovic and the Pittsburgh Penguins fell behind 3-0 at PPG Paints Arena to the divisional foe Philadelphia Flyers. Following the third goal of the game, coach Mike Sullivan decided to pull Nedeljkovic from the net in favor of Joel Blomqvist.
To say that Nedeljkovic was not happy would be an understatement. He slammed his goal stick over the top of the net and then threw it into the corner, departed the ice and slammed the bench door shut in a fit of frustration before heading down the tunnel toward the dressing room.
Nedeljkovic played 2 years with the Red Wings after being acquired via trade with the Carolina Hurricanes before signing with the Penguins in the summer of 2023.
The Red Wings chose not to re-sign him after signing both Alex Lyon and James Reimer that same offseason.

The Red Wings have already made a goaltending trade this week

Earlier this week, the Red Wings traded Nedeljkovic's former teammate Ville Husso to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations.
Like Nedeljkovic before him, Husso became expendable by the Red Wings after they picked up Cam Talbot over the summer.
And while he had a year left on his contract, he did not perform up to expectations and mostly played in the American Hockey League in what was his final year in Detroit.
