Ex-Red Wings goalie Alex Nedeljkovic scores a goal for Penguins
The former Detroit Red Wings goaltender became the 2nd goalie this year to score a goal, joining Filip Gustavsson of the Minnesota Wild.
Former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic has become the 2nd NHL goalie to score an empty net goal this year.
He joined Minnesota Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson in accomplishing the feat, doing so tonight against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Centre:
Ironically, this is now the 2nd goal of his professional career, as he also scored into an empty net while on a conditioning assignment in the American Hockey League.
He's also the 2nd Penguins goalie to score in as many years, as Tristan Jarry did so last year against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The only Red Wings goalie to score a goal to date is Chris Osgood, who did so against the Hartford Whalers (now the Carolina Hurricanes) in March of 1996.
