Fabbri has a crucial year ahead of him this season
Red Wings forward Robby Fabbri is headed into the last year of his contract and will have to prove he is worth an extension after having a mediocre season last year.
Fabbri's 18 goals were the sixth most on the team but for his $4 million cap hit, the Wings should be getting more in return.
With the Wings looking to find ways to make some cap space room for big signings such as Seider and Raymond, Fabbri will have to prove he is worth the money he is being paid.
On the other hand, moving his $4 million cap hit will open up a lot of space for Yzerman to work with. With Moritz Seider and Lucas Raymond in line for massive raises, the Red Wings need to create cap space somehow. - Wolak Hopefully Fabbri can deliver this season and prove to Yzerman he belongs in Detroit, if not there is a solid chance the Wings will look to move him before the deadline.
