Fans of Detroit Red Wings' Atlantic Division rival are furious after franchise owner endorses zero changes
You can't blame fans of the Buffalo Sabres for their anger after franchise owner Terry Pegula essentially promised no changes were coming despite a 10-game skid.
It wasn't too long ago that outsiders looking in at the NHL's Atlantic Division believed that the next club to make the postseason after a lengthy drought would come down to one of the Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, and Ottawa Senators.
Buffalo currently is stuck in the NHL's longest postseason drought, having not qualified since 2011.
The Red Wings are second with their most recent appearance having taken place in 2016, while the Senators haven't qualified since advancing to overtime of Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final in 2017.
But if things continue the way they are now, the Sabres will miss for the 15th consecutive year. They've lost 10 in a row, including Monday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Red Wings after they had leads of 1-0, 3-2 and 5-3.
Earlier today, the Sabres called off practice and were spoken to by franchise owner Terry Pegula. But for Sabres fans hoping that a major shakeup was in the works, they were left bitterly confused and disappointed.
Pegula reportedly informed the players that no such shakeup was coming, and that management had full belief in the players that have failed to win a game since November 23.
And to say that fans were angered would be an incredible understatement.
What the actual F*******!!! Unserious franchise more concerned with fans hurting their feelings with inflatable palm trees than winning!
The solution has not been «in this room» in 14 seasons..

How can you have faith in a guy that came in as GM with NO experience and now has lost 10 in a row? This is not a coincidence
What a sigh of relief. Notoriously teams in the middle of historic playoff droughts showing no signs of life often find solutions within. So glad our glorious leader snuffed it out and this definitely isn't an indication he's too cheap to do something or hire competent leadership.
it seems strange that Mr Pegula flew to Montreal to tell them that . I think he came for Montreal's famous bagels and smoked meat !
The Red Wings have already beaten the Sabres twice this year
While the Red Wings dropped their 1st matchup against the Sabres this year, they've since rebounded with a pair of wins over them.
Captain Dylan Larkin scored both Red Wings goals in a 2-1 win on November 2, while goaltender Sebastian Cossa picked up his 1st career victory on December 9 in the aforementioned 6-5 shootout win.
