The Detroit Red Wings gathered for practice today at Little Caesars Arena, but were missing several key players.
Captain Dylan Larkin didn't skate, nor did forward Marco Kasper and goaltender Cam Talbot; the latter pair of players weren't available for Saturday night's 4-2 victory over the divisional foe Toronto Maple Leafs.
Talbot had already missed a handful of games after getting hurt on December 1, and then re-aggravated his injury during practice earlier this week.
Per head coach Derek Lalonde, Larkin was absent due to a maintenance day, while Kasper continues to battle the illness that forced him at the last minute from Saturday's lineup.
As far as Talbot is concerned, Lalonde hopes that he'll be available to the Red Wings for Friday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Lalonde also expects Larkin to play on Wednesday against the Flyers, but the status of Kasper isn't yet clear.
The Red Wings were thoroughly outplayed by the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday, losing 4-1 despite a strong effort from Talbot.
Flyers forward had the first 4-goal performance of his NHL career, while only Ben Chiarot was able to find the back of the net for the Red Wings.
Right now, goaltender Ville Husso, who performed well against the Maple Leafs on Saturday, is on track to start in the rematch against the Flyers on Wednesday.
