Here's your All-Michigan NHL squad, and there are some Detroit Red Wings in it

Detroit Hockey Now has unveiled an all-time team of Michigan-born players. We've also selected the best current NHL players from Michigan as a complementary piece.

Surprisingly, two NHL teams contribute two-thirds of this squad, with the Detroit Red Wings being one of them.

All-Michigan Team of Current NHL Players

Goalie: Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets
Hellebuyck had a stellar 2023-24 season, winning his second Vezina Trophy and earning a First Team NHL All-Star nod. He also won the Jennings Trophy, posting a .921 save percentage and 37 wins. His career NHL save percentage is .917.

Defense: Zach Werenski, Columbus Blue Jackets
Werenski was 12th among NHL defensemen in points (57) and tied for 17th in goals (11) last season. He has scored double-digit goals in six of his eight NHL seasons and was named to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2016-17.

Defense: Jacob Trouba, New York Rangers
Trouba, the subject of Red Wings trade rumors earlier this summer, was 12th among NHL defensemen last season with 183 blocked shots. Over the last three campaigns, he averaged 7.49 blocked shots per 60 minutes and 205.33 hits per season. He won the Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2023-24.

Center: Dylan Larkin, Detroit Red Wings
Larkin led the Red Wings with 33 goals last season, marking his third consecutive 30-goal campaign. He led the team in goals each season and points in two of the past three seasons, averaging 72.33 points per season.

Left Wing: Kyle Connor, Winnipeg Jets
Connor led the Jets with 34 goals in 2023-24, including 10 game-winners. He has scored at least 31 goals in five of the past six seasons and potted a career-high 47 goals in 2021-22, winning the Lady Byng Trophy that season.

Right Wing: Alex DeBrincat, Detroit Red Wings
DeBrincat, known for his scoring ability, netted 27 goals in the past two seasons. He scored 41 goals twice in a single campaign, and he tallied 36 power-play goals over the past three seasons, with a career shooting percentage of 15.5%.
