Erik Gustafsson reveals his mindset heading into this season
Erik Gustafsson was signed by the Detroit Red Wings in free agency for $4 million over the course of two seasons.
Heading into the year, Gustafsson has already gotten an endorsement from Patrick Kane, whom he played with in Chicago. The plan for Gustafsson is to be on the Power Play. While his offensive production has gone down in recent years, Gustafsson is still feeling especially confident heading into the year.
"I have been playing power play ever since I came over here," Gustafsson said. "It's something I like to do and something my game is. I like to run it from the blue line and try to get the puck to the forwards or shoot the puck and try to create lanes. I feel very confident in playing the power play."
Only time will tell how this all works out for the Red Wings this year. They are a team that desperately wants to make the postseason, and there is a lot riding on it right now.
