Hockey consultant Jack Han sat down with the Hockey News to speak of the Red Wings future and how he believes they are developing.

Han spoke mainly of Moritz Seider stating how they Red Wings are throwing him into the deep end by playing massive minutes but he keeps delevering for them. If they want to get more out of Seider, they need to find him a solid D partner to have a great 1-2 punch with their first pairing.

Han also added that putting Seider in defensive situations stops him from being offensive which is what gets players paid so with that being said, it will work out for the Wings in the long run as they will be able to sign him for cheaper.

"If you take a player like Seider and you deploy him in an extremely defensive way, and maybe you don't put the emphasis on his offensive play, he's not gonna score as many goals or score as many assists. You're not making him worse, but you're gonna be able to get him for cheaper because when agents typically negotiate, they look at points, and it's not necessarily the best comparable or the one that makes the most sense, especially for defenseman, but that's how a lot of negotiations go, and it's sort of a way to artificially reduce the player's open market value." - Stockton

The hcokey consultant also spoke of how great Lucas Raymond has been for the team which is expected seeing as he was a great scorer in Europe and was able to come over in his rookie season and transition to the NHL very well.

Clearly Han believes the Wings have a very bright future ahead with loads of young talent but Yzerman will need to help find them a supporting cast at the same time.
