Joe Veleno and Detroit Red Wings avoid arbitration following two-year contract
Joe Veleno's new two-year contract and continued development are positive signs for the Detroit Red Wings.
As a solid bottom-six center, Veleno will likely play on the third or fourth line, contributing to the team's depth. Given his incremental scoring improvement and willingness to play in the "dirty areas" of the ice, he fits the mould of the type of player that GM Steve Yzerman values.
Joe Veleno is expected to play alongside forwards such as Berggren and Motte on the fourth line in the projected lineup. His contributions will be crucial as the Red Wings aim to return to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
If he continues to develop his offensive game and maintain his physical style of play, Veleno could become an even more valuable asset to the team.
