Standing at 6-foot-5 and hailing from Barrie, Ontario, Miller already has ties to the Red Wings, having played for the Detroit Jr. Red Wings at the 2016 Brick Invitational as a child.
Miller spent the 2023-24 season with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the OHL, posting a solid 17-6-2 record, a 2.79 goals-against average, and two shutouts in 30 regular-season games. His performance in the OHL Playoffs, where he made an impact in a relief appearance, further showcased his ability under pressure.
Greyhounds GM Kyle Raftis and coach John Dean have carefully managed Miller's development, and Miller credits their patient approach with helping him grow. Goaltending coach Mark Visentin, a former NHL first-round pick, has also shaped Miller's skills and mindset, giving him valuable insights into the goaltending position.
Off the ice, Miller has embraced the community of Sault Ste. Marie, describing the mutual bond between the team and its fans. As Miller continues to develop, he has the potential to become a key part of the Red Wings' future goaltending pipeline.
