Moritz Seider reveals what's next for the Detroit Red Wings after 5th straight loss
The Detroit Red Wings have dropped five in a row, all by one goal. Following their latest disappointing setback, Moritz Seider announced what's next for the team.
In what has become a cruel refrain for the Detroit Red Wings, they were sent to their 5th consecutive loss last night.
The Colorado Avalanche eked out a 2-1 victory at Little Caesars Arena; Cale Makar's PPG in the second period proved to be the difference.
The Red Wings failed to score more than once on Avalanche goalie Alexandar Georgiev, one of the worst statistical starters in the NHL who entered the game with an abysmal .867 save percentage.
Afterward, Defenseman Moritz Seider said there was no other choice for the team but to return to practice later today with smiles on their faces.
We come to the rink with a big smile tomorrow, get ready to work, play two opponents that are really close and hopefully get four points and get back with a little bit of swagger.
The Detroit Red Wings managed only one shot for most of the 3rd period
The momentum the Red Wings wanted to seize after Lucas Raymond's 2nd period goal halved Colorado's lead was non-existent until it was too late.
Detroit was sluggish the entire 3rd period, managing a single shot until the final two minutes of play when Ville Husso was lifted for an extra attacker.
Per Seider, that was one of the more frustrating portions of the game.
We just couldn't really capitalize in the third. Got away from the game a little bit.
Not good enough on the breakouts, a lot of bad decisions.
