It's five straight losses now for the struggling Detroit Red Wings, and their angry fan base is demanding that GM Steve Yzerman take action.

The Detroit Red Wings dropped their 5th straight game tonight, falling to the Colorado Avalanche 2-1.

It was the latest one-goal loss for the Red WIngs, who continue to lose ground in the Eastern Conference and in their own division.

Not only did the Red Wings allow yet another power-play goal (which eventually stood up as the game-winner), but they also made Avs goaltender Alexandar Georgiev, statistically one of the NHL's worst starters, look like Dominik Hasek.

Not surprisingly, angry Detroit Red Wings fans swarmed social media and voiced their frustration, demanding that general manager Steve Yzerman take action and make a coaching change.

Someone needs to be fired after losing 5 in a row!

Fire f**king Derek. How many time do we have to say this. For f*** sake, fire him. He is clearly an incompetent head coach.

Fire the coach, play Cossa, make a trade... DO SOMETHING HOLY HELL!!

5 straight losses and lalonde is still behind the bench, incredible. Stevie needs to do SOMETHING!!!!!

All these one goal games we're losing just goes to show that coaching is definitely an issue.

No urgency in the third until we pulled the goalie. We looked good in the second period, and I don't know what the coach told them but they looked off in the third until goalie pulled.

Is this the night tha LaLonde finally gets canned? Can't score 5v5, no team speed, no grit, no traceable assets, no cap space.

Yzerman should go with him. Time to clean house.

Time for a change up. #firelalonde
