Former Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi, who is now with the Chicago Blackhawks, has not been scoring at his former pace.
His best output came with the Red Wings in 2021-22, when he reached the 30-goal mark and was registering a pace of .91 points per game.
However, he's been unable to replicate that kind of performance since his departure from Detroit at the 2023 Deadline.
Once again failing to make a run toward the playoffs, Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman traded Bertuzzi to the Bruins, who were on a record-setting pace of 65 wins.
Bertuzzi scored seven goals for the Bruins in their opening round postseason series against the Florida Panthers, who pulled off a massive seven-game upset.
Upon entering free agency, Bertuzzi was said to be looking for a lengthy contract, but was only able to secure a 1-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He got off to a very slow start with his new team, but eventually picked up the pace and finished 2023-24 with 21 goals; he and the Leafs were then knocked out of the postseason in Round 1 (yet again) by his former Bruins teammates.
With the Leafs, he scored at a 0.54 pace.
Finally able to secure a lengthy deal, he signed a four-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks during the summer, finally securing the longest deal of his career to date.
But his scoring struggles are continuing with Chicago, having only scored five times in 26 games, a pace of 0.38 points per game.
Bertuzzi has now played for four Original Six clubs in his career with the Red Wings, Bruins, Maple Leafs, and Blackhawks.
