NHL rumors on the RFAs for the Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins
According to the latest NHL rumors, the Detroit Red Wings appear to be having trouble negotiating a contract extension for Lucas Raymond.
While progress is reportedly being made on a deal with RFA defenseman Moritz Seider, negotiations with Raymond seem to lag. Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now suggests that Raymond's camp might be playing hardball, especially given his career-high 31-goal season where he led the Red Wings with 72 points. GM Steve Yzerman has expressed confidence in signing his RFAs, though the delay in Raymond's deal remains puzzling.
Finally, reports of Jeremy Swayman seeking a $10 million deal with the Boston Bruins have been debunked by Frank Seravalli, who clarifies that Swayman's ask is closer to $8 million while the Bruins are offering around $6 million. This impasse could impact the Bruins' ability to sign other players, including Tyler Johnson, who is on a PTO.
