Red Wings explain why Sebastian Cossa was demoted back to AHL despite earning 1st NHL win

The Detroit Red Wings are not allowing goaltender Sebastian Cossa to pick up his 1st NHL start tomorrow against the Flyers, sending him back to the AHL.
Despite picking up his 1st career NHL victory on Monday against the Sabres after relieving Ville Husso, the Red Wings have sent him back to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Cam Talbot is expected to be ready to play tomorrow against the Flyers (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket), according to Derek Lalonde.
We're hoping to have Talbot for tomorrow. We're going to see how he responds from (Wednesday's) practice; haven't got that report yet.

Lalonde also noted that he hoped the experience would prove beneficial for Cossa moving forward.
What an experience. Obviously, the games helped, but the process over the games and being around, getting to know teammates, you can't get much more of a pinnacle or high in his game but you can see, watching his game back, he did look a little rattled in there, he had trouble finding pucks, but got the job done.
Watching the NHL last night, it kind of put it in perspective when Vancouver's goalie comes back, and he's an All-Star, and he's talking about how overwhelmed he felt and how fast it was, and this is an NHL All-Star, so you can just imagine what it felt for Cossa having to play at that level.
And they're a really tough team to play against. They didn't produce a lot of offense but when they did it was Grade A and there's elite players. I just think this will be a huge step in his development.

Despite the desire from large portions of the Red Wings fan base to see Cossa start his 1st NHL game tomorrow against the Flyers, those hopes will have to wait for another day.
Cossa was returned to the AHL, and is expected to be in goal for Grand Rapids' next game against the Colorado Eagles.
