The Detroit Red Wings have announced the latest update on goaltender Sebastian Cossa, just two days after his 1st career NHL win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Just days after Detroit Red Wings goaltender Sebastian Cossa picked up his 1st career NHL victory by helping his team overcome a two-goal deficit against the Buffalo Sabres, he's back on his way down to the AHL.

The Red Wings announced that Cossa has been re-assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins, while also saying Cam Talbot will be ready to return tomorrow night against the Flyers (7:00 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket).

Talbot has been unavailable since suffering a lower body injury earlier in the month against the Vancouver Canucks.

Sebastian Cossa admitted he'd not get much sleep after 1st NHL win

Cossa was inserted into the game on Monday night after Ville Husso allowed three Sabres goals on just seven shots.

While he allowed two goals in short order, he finished with 12 saves and also stopped two Sabres attempts in the shootout and picked up the victory.

In doing so, he became the only NHL goalie to earn his first win by coming in relief of the starter, and winning in the shootout.

He said it would be hard for him to get sleep after the exciting finish to the night.

It's pretty cool. I don't think I could have pictured it a better way.

Obviously, really excited. It's probably not going to settle for a little while. Don't know how much sleep I'm going to be getting tonight, but a really cool moment.
