Red Wings Management Not Allowed to attend 2025 NHL Entry Draft

It's going to be a brand new format for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, but here's the catch - Red Wings management will not be in attendance.
Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman will continue his work in building the franchise upward when he makes his pick for the team in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft this summer.
There will be one major difference in this year's proceedings, however. While top prospects and media will be in attendance at the Peacock Theater, team executives, scouts and coaches won't be on hand - at least physically. They'll be participating virtually.
Steve Mayer, President of NHL Events and Content, promised a "first class event" for the fans for the fans.
The NHL Draft is an amazing showcase of the future stars of the National Hockey League so it's only fitting for it to be held in Los Angeles- - a city filled with stars. With the support of the Kings, LA Tourism and Upper Deck, the prospects and our fans can expect a first-rate event with a new look and creative approach. Former Red Wings forward Luc Robitaille, who is now the President of the Kings, acknowledged the tradition of the NHL hosting major events in the city with the 2025 NHL Entry Draft becoming the latest.

Yzerman has made picks like Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Simon Edvinsson, Marco Kasper, and others in recent NHL Drafts; fans are already seeing the benefits of those picks.
