With Brady Tkachuk in the headlines, recent reports of the Senators exploring the possibility of trading their captain have been overwritten, but not forgotten.

NHL reporter Andy Strickland touched base on Tkachuk being dealt out of Ottawa, and stated it's 'inevitable', meaning it is guaranteed to happen and unavoidable.

Brady Tkachuk and Red Wings' Dylan Larkin both shared the on and off ice relationship at the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, and they will also be doing so for Team USA at the 2026 Olympics, alongside Alex DeBrincat who is having an amazing season and will surely be a candidate for that roster.

Think about the Detroit Red Wings and their hard-nosed past of gritty players, Tkachuk is a physical presence that every NHL team craves, and alongside his scoring abilities, it makes him one of the hottest trade candidates on the market.

With talks of the Detroit Red Wings buying out forward Vladimir Tarasenko, if they do not find a trade suitor for him at the deadline, he could be an asset involved in a package in exchange for Tkachuk.

Tarasenko laced up the skates for the Senators in the 2023-24 NHL season, posting up a career-high 41 points since the year of 2021.

The Red Wings will of course have to add a lot more assets to acquire Tkachuk, but general manager Steve Yzerman and his #5 ranked prospect pool in the NHL could certainly add intriguing young pieces to entertain the Senators.
