The streak for Sidney Crosby and the Canadians finally came to a close in last night's loss to the Americans, a previously unbeaten streak of 26 games.

In upset fashion, the Americans beat Canada 3-1 in last night's game at Bell Centre.
Jake Guentzel scored twice, while Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin scored the game winner in the 2nd period.
But the loss brought an end to what was a massive streak for former Red Wings nemesis Sidney Crosby.
Canada had won every game with Crosby in their lineup, an overall streak of 26 consecutive victories over 15 years; that streak was finally broken.
Red Wings fans are all too familiar with Crosby, having faced him and the Pittsburgh Penguins in consecutive years in the Stanley Cup Finals.
2008 went the Red Wings way, while the Penguins stunned Detroit in the highly-anticipated rematch the following year; Crosby became the first non-Red Wings player to ever lift the Stanley Cup on Joe Louis Arena ice.
There is still some animosity toward Crosby when the Penguins visit Detroit, as pockets of fans still boo whenever he has the puck on his stick.
Hockey fans have long memories, and there are still plenty of Red Wings fans who still have the sting of seeing Crosby and the Penguins beat Detroit in Game 7 of the 2009 Cup Final.

Dylan Larkin scored the game winner for the Americans

Elevated to the 3rd line for last night's game after playing barely 11 minutes in the 6-1 win over Finland, Larkin scored the game winner as part of the 3-1 win over Canada.
