The Detroit Red Wings released their training camp roster, featuring 68 players: 37 forwards, 22 defensemen, and nine goaltenders.

Among them is restricted free agent Moritz Seider, the team's top defenseman, still in contract negotiations. GM Steve Yzerman noted that both sides "continue to talk" and aren't "terribly far apart."
Key prospects include Simon Edvinsson, Carter Mazur, Marco Kasper, and Nate Danielson, who have excelled in the AHL and junior hockey. Edvinsson, expected to make the NHL roster, impressed last season. Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, drafted 15th overall in 2024, joins camp after pausing his season with Skelleftea in the Swedish Hockey League.

Thirteen players are on professional tryout (PTO) deals, including Austin Watson and former Red Wing Alex Chiasson. Watson, known for his physical play, is on his seventh PTO, while Chiasson returns after contributing six goals in 20 games for Detroit in 2022-23.
Training camp begins Thursday morning. Team Lindsay will hit the ice first, followed by Teams Delvecchio and Howe. The groups will remain separate until the Red & White game on Sunday, a key scrimmage that will help determine roster spots across the NHL, AHL, and ECHL teams.
