Top NHL insider clears the air after wild Dylan Larkin trade rumor had Detroit Red Wings fans panicking
A crazy rumor has been making the rounds on social media that Dylan Larkin has requested to be traded, but now the truth is coming out.
A wild rumor has been floated on social media, but the truth is now making itself known.
According to an X account user known as Sash Sharnaz, Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin allegedly requested a trade.
Adding to the intrigue was his report that respected NHL insider Chris Johnston of TSN would join him tomorrow to discuss the alleged trade request.
Spoke to Chris Johnston today, he can confirm the reports that Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin has indeed requested a trade.
He will be joining me on the Sharnaz Show on TSN 1200 tomorrow afternoon to discuss this.
But as panicked Red Wings fans immediately began demanding an explanation, Johnston himself immediately calmed their nerves.
Johnston cleared the air by saying that he's never spoken to the aforementioned account user and that there's no trade request that he's aware of from the Detroit captain.
This is patently, 100% false and fabricated. I've never spoken with this person or reported anything of this nature.
Take a breath, Red Wings fans!
Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin isn't going anywhere
While it's true that Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin is frustrated with the losing, there's little to no real possibility that he would want to leave the team he recently inked an 8-year extension with.
The longest-tenured current Red Wings player on the roster, Larkin was right there for when the team reached rock bottom in 2019-20, and wants more than anything to be there when they return to hockey's summit again.
