The Yzerplan has a new target the Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser.

The Vancouver Canucks have traded JT Miller to the New York Rangers recently, and now they may have to trade Brock Boeser.
It was reported that Boeser has failed to sign a contract extension offered to him by the Canucks GM Patrik Allvin.
In his latest trade board piece, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reports that the Canucks tabled a five-year, $40 million offer to Boeser's camp, which has obviously not been accepted.

Since he rejected the offer, it appears the Canucks will have to consider another route, a trade.
While obviously, no player wants to be traded in the grander scheme of it all, the parties seem to be at an impasse.
This is where GM Steve Yzerman can enact the Yzerplan in full force to add another top winger to the Red Wings lineup.
Whether he remains a rental or is extended a contract offer comes in July, after we see his chemistry in Detroit, and how he plays in the top six.
Given the team's offensive firepower in Detroit, this should go down without a problem.
Boeser is coming off of a 40-goal season in 2023-2024 and is one of the most sought-after UFAs in 2025.
What better than to take advantage of the Canucks at an error in negotiations and offer Boeser a shot at competing in the playoffs?
As a pending UFA, Boeser's market may not be robust, and Vancouver is reluctant to compromise their playoff aspirations, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Something he'll never taste in Vancouver as they continue to retool the lineup.
The Detroit Red Wings should pull out all of the stops to acquire Boeser who scored 73 points (40 G, 33 A) in 2023-2024.
