All aboard the pain train! Towering Detroit Red Wings forward Elmer Soderblom devastated Seattle's Brandon Montour with a massive check in last night's win.

He's the tallest player in Detroit Red Wings history, and in last night's win over the Seattle Kraken, he put his size to good use.
Elmer Soderblom scored the Red Wings' 4th goal of the night as part of their 5-4 shootout victory over Seattle, but he also utilized his massive frame to good physical use.
Soderblom went viral on social media for his huge hit on Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour in the corner, sending the former Stanley Cup champion with Detroit's divisional foe Florida Panthers flying:
Soderblom also added a goal for good measure, extending his point streak to a personal-best 5-games as part of the Red Wings' winning streak.
The Swedish forward, who was re-called from the Grand Rapids Griffins last month, banged home a rebound past Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord in the 3rd period:
Soderblom got his 1st taste of NHL action in 2022-23, playing in 21 games and even picking up his inaugural goal with Detroit as part of a 3-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens in their 2022 home opener.
However, he's played in the American Hockey League since then and hadn't gotten back to the Red Wings before this year, literally.
The Red Wings picked Soderblom with the 159th overall selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Before being brought back up to Detroit, he had accumulated 17 points (5G, 12A) in 38 games with Grand Rapids.
