Here's the news of the Detroit Red Wings and other NHL teams on big prospects and internal movement this week.

Red Wings Rumblings
The Red Wings have internally promoted Aaron Kahn to assistant general manager. Kahn, previously serving as director of hockey operations, will continue his duties under this new title. This change doesn't seem to alter much operationally, while Shawn Horcoff remains focused on the minor league system and his role as GM of the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Patience with ASP
Helene St. James reports on Axel Sandin-Pellikka's decision to stay in Sweden for another season. Dan Cleary emphasizes the team's patient approach:
"Axel was one of Sweden's most important players on defense,» assistant director of player development Dan Cleary said. «He's going to play quite a bit in Skellefteå, they're going to have a good team. He's going to run the power play, going to play quite a bit with the puck. Axel is a really smart player, moves well. We just don't see the harm in it. No sense rushing him."

NHL News
Konecny goes to that bank!
Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny secured an eight-year, $70 million contract, making him the highest-paid player on the Flyers at $8.75 million AAV. This is particularly relevant for the Red Wings, as they have yet to sign Lucas Raymond. Whether Detroit opts for a long-term deal or a bridge contract, securing Raymond is crucial. A bridge deal might benefit Raymond, allowing for a bigger payday with the rising salary cap.
