The Detroit Red Wings have seen many legendary goaltenders throughout history in the NHL, making it challenging to rank the top three.

Evaluating only their time in Detroit, here are the top three Detroit Red Wings goalies of all time:

#1 - Terry Sawchuk
Terry Sawchuk is undeniably the greatest Detroit Red Wings goalie, with 351 wins and 85 shutouts in his 14 seasons with the team. Terry Sawchuk was a dominant force, leading Detroit to three Stanley Cup victories as a starter. His 103 career shutouts rank second all-time in NHL history.

#2 - Chris Osgood
Chris Osgood was pivotal during Detroit's most recent dynasty, securing 317 wins and 39 shutouts over 14 seasons. Chris Osgood's adaptability and transformation into a butterfly goalie helped him lead the Detroit Red Wings to three Stanley Cups.

#3 - Harry Lumley
Harry Lumley, Detroit's main goalie in the 1940s, won 163 games and recorded 26 shutouts. He led the Detroit Red Wings to four Stanley Cup Finals, winning in 1950 before being succeeded by Terry Sawchuk.

Honorable mentions include Dominik Hasek, Mike Vernon, and Glenn Hall, among others, who had impactful but shorter tenures in Detroit.
