Another tragic passing has the hockey world in tears today, as a 34 year old former goaltender has died after suffering a heart attack.

Yet again, the hockey world is in sadness today as another untimely passing of a young player has been confirmed.
The Korea Ice Hockey Association has confirmed that 34 year old goaltender Hyan Ho Hwang has passed away after suffering a heart attack.

We regret to inform you of the passing of former South Korean national team goaltender, Hyun Ho Hwang 🇰🇷, at the age of 34.

Hwang went 1-2-0 through six games played with South Korea's national team 🇰🇷 from 2018-2022, recording a .913 SV% in that span.

Professionally, Hwang played with HL Anyang (Asia League) 🇰🇷 from 2013-2014, and 2016-2023, and also played with Sangmu (Asia League) 🇰🇷 from 2014-2016. He recorded an .896 SV% through 100 games played, and won the Asian League championship three times (2017, 2018, and 2023), all with HL Anyang.

Rest in Peace.

Sadly, this passing comes just days after the unfortunate passing of Miika Elomo, a former first-round pick of the Washington Capitals.

Former Korean goaltender Hyun Ho Hwang was only 34

He played his entire professional hockey career in South Korea's top division, the Asia League Ice Hockey (ALIH).
He also represented his country in the 2009 and 2010 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship Division 2A tournaments, winning a bronze medal.
