Now with the Nashville Predators, Ryan O'Reilly may have confirmed rumors about his attempts to recruit Mitch Marner from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Former NHL player and Toronto Star columnist Nick Kypreos discussed O'Reilly's efforts to persuade Predators GM Barry Trotz to pursue Marner amid speculation about Marner's future in Toronto.
Despite O'Reilly's efforts, the Predators focused on signing Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, and Brady Skjei. O'Reilly, however, remained highly complimentary of Marner, highlighting his competitive nature, playmaking abilities, and unique vision of the game during a media session at a golf tournament in Brampton.
Marner, a key player for the Maple Leafs, continues to be the subject of trade rumours. O'Reilly's praise underscores Marner's value and the respect he commands from current and former teammates. O'Reilly's brief but impactful stint with the Maple Leafs saw him score 4 goals and 11 points in 13 regular-season games and 3 goals and 9 points in 11 playoff games, playing a crucial role in the team's first-round series victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
While Mitch Marner remains with the Maple Leafs for now, O'Reilly's comments suggest that the possibility of Marner moving to the Predators could resurface, especially if Marner explores free agency at the end of the season. The chemistry and relationship between the two players could potentially influence future decisions.
