Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat, playing in his 2nd year with the club, has revealed who he believes their top player is after he and his team put the finishing touches on a 5-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

The Detroit Red Wings picked up their 3rd straight victory under coach Todd McLellan on Thursday night, defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 thanks to Jonatan Berggren's breakaway goal with 35 seconds left in regulation.

And like Berggren, Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin scored for the 2nd time in as many games.

His 3rd-period power play goal gave the Red Wings a 4-3 lead, and his excited reaction to the score said it all as he leaped into teammate Alex DeBrincat's arms.

DeBrincat later said that he thinks Larkin is the best player on the Red Wings, and that his recent 2-game goal streak could get him back to his usual scoring prowess.

He's our best player, I think. When he's going, we're winning games. It's good to see him put it in the net. I think he's been getting the chances, but it's been unlucky for him.

Hopefully, the tides turn, and he can pop a few.

The Red Wings also got goals from Patrick Kane, DeBrincat, and Erik Gustafsson; his goal was his very 1st while wearing a Red Wings sweater after signing a 2-year deal in the summer.

Red Wings goalie Cam Talbot made 21 saves for his 7th win in his 1st year with Detroit; he returned to the crease after watching Alex Lyon win consecutive games.
