Another Red Wings prospect is heading to Europe
Radim Simek of the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins has decided he wants to leave his NHL dreams behind and go continue his pro career in Europe.
He will be returning to his home country of Czechia where he plays for the Liberec White Tigers of the Czech Extraliga.
Simek inked a three-year contract until 2027.
Radim �imek is headed home to Czechia.
It's sad for us as in the short time he was in GR he quickly became a favorite veteran player for us. Radim played a huge role in filling the gap left on defense when Edvinsson was in Detroit.

The 31-year-old defencemen played a total of 209 games in the NHL, all for the San Jose Sharks. Through out his career he has tallied a total of 7 goals and 22 assists for 29 points.
Last season for the Red Wings and Sharks respective AHL affiliates, he had 4 goals and 13 assists with a +/- of 4.
The Detroit Red Wings fans wish him luck on this new chapter of his career.
