The last minute lineup switch was announced by the Detroit Red Wings just minutes before they dropped the puck against the divisional foe Maple Leafs in Detroit.

The Detroit Red Wings face the divisional foe Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at Little Caesars Arena, but a last-minute switch has been announced.

Just before the opening puck-drop, it was announced that forward Marco Kasper was unable to play due to an illness.

Originally, he had been slotted into the second line alongside Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat. Per Ansar Khan, here are tonight's new forward line combinations:

Rasmussen-Larkin-Raymond
DeBrincat-Compher-Kane
Berggren-Copp-Tarasenko
Veleno-Motte-Fischer

Kasper, Detroit's opening round selection in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, was called up from the American Hockey League earlier this year for his first taste of action at the world's highest level.

He's already scored twice while adding five assists in 25 games; he picked up his 1st NHL goal against Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal last month:
