Could the Detroit Red Wings be getting this star goaltender?
Could we be seeing the likes of Jacob Markstrom being traded to the Detroit Red Wings?
Jacob Markstrom still has 2 years remaining left on his contract with the Calgary flames valued at over $6 million dollars per season AAV. The latest reports from TSN's Piere Lebrun speculates that trading for Markstrom is a possibility general manager Steve Yzerman is considering.
"There are other teams now that weren't there on Markstrom before the trade deadline that have now entered the picture. The Flames are getting calls from multiple teams on Markstrom, not just from the Devils," LeBruin indicated in his latest column. "At this point in time, there's still a difference of opinion on the return, on what it should cost the Devils to get Jacob Markstrom out of Calgary and the Flames are willing to be patient in terms of having a team meet their price." Pierre Lebrun comments
Although the past few years have been inconsistent for Jacob Markstrom, a trade could very well propel him in the right direction to revamp is game. Do you think Steve Yzerman will trade for Jacob Markstrom? The other front runners for Markstrom are the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
