Edvinsson speaks on his motivation since stint with the Wings in March
Defenseman Samuel Edvinsson has been playing very well for the Griffins so far in the Calder cup playoffs.
Edvinsson recently spoke to reporters about his time at the end of the season with the Wings and how close they were to making the playoffs.
«It's been fun with the Griffins. But of course, it sucked to have gone out that way (with the Red Wings),» Edvinsson told DetroitRedWings.com on Wednesday. «It was a lot of fun to play those difficult, important games. It was a great experience, but I really felt like we had something with that group.»
Clearly the young defenseman is ready to take the next step and have a more permanent role with the Red Wings next season but for the time being, his focus is on winning a Calder Cup.
