Dylan Larkin aims to elevate his game this season, but staying healthy will be key to achieving that.

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin had a breakout season, achieving a point-per-game pace for the first time with 69 points in 68 games. As he enters the 2024-25 season, Larkin believes he can elevate his performance further. «I know I have a next level,» he stated during the opening of training camp. Staying healthy is crucial for him to reach that goal, especially after missing 14 games last season due to significant injuries.
Dylan Larkin faced two major injuries last season: one caused by a brutal cross-check from Ottawa's Mathieu Joseph that sidelined him for four games, and another lower-body injury in March that kept him out for eight games during a critical playoff push. Despite these challenges, Dylan Larkin remained a key contributor, particularly alongside Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond, with whom he skated on the first day of training camp.
During the offseason, Larkin maintained a rigorous training routine, even undergoing minor upper-body surgery. He trained alongside NHL stars, including teammates Andrew Copp and Alex DeBrincat. While he acknowledges the unpredictability of injuries, he remains optimistic about his health and potential for the season, believing that with good fortune, he could surpass his previous performance levels.
