Detroit Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon is hurt again, having left last night's 3-2 overtime victory over the Ottawa Senators at Little Caesars Arena after the 1st period; he was replaced by Cam Talbot.
It's the second time that Lyon has been injured this year, having already missed several games after getting hurt in practice in November. Before leaving last night's game, Lyon was a perfect 10-for-10 on the shots he took from Ottawa.
The Red Wings have been forced to make an emergency roster move thanks to Lyon's injury, re-calling goaltender Ville Husso from the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Husso hasn't appeared in action for the Red Wings since their 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on December 14.
He turned in a strong performance, bouncing back from an abysmal previous start against the Sabres and making 23 saves, including robbing Mitch Marner on a 3rd-period breakaway attempt.
With the Griffins, Husso is 6-1 while posting a 1.86 GAA, a .935 SV%, and a pair of shutouts.
